Google recently issued an update to their policy, telling employees that they won't be able to expense food, fitness, home office furniture, decoration or gifts while working from home even if an employee possess extra money from cancelled events or travel budgets as reported by CNBC. The new updated policy also restricts employees from buying food for themselves or for teams members during online conferences or even donating to charities of personal preference.

According to a new email sent to employees by Google's CEO Sundar Pichai, said that the workers can expect a gradual and moderate return to their respective offices, but that will only happen at least after June 1. However he did not announce any specific date for return as of now. Pichai also extended his gratitude to all the staff members who are currently working onsite to provide critical service to keep products, offices and data centers running.

In the latest Exposure Notification released by Apple and Google answering the frequently asked questions of users confirms that the companies can disable the exposure notification system on a regional basis when it is no longer needed. They have also confirmed that the newly developed system can only be used for contact tracing by public health authorities apps, replying user concerns over privacy and security protection.

The European Commissioner, Thierry Breton had a video conversation with Apple's CEO Tim Cook recently, where he assured Breton that the first version of the Coronavirus contact tracing technology that Apple is building in partnership with Google will be made available to developers on April 28. The API was originally scheduled to release in May, but the early release will allow developers to work on cross-platform contact tracing apps to control the further spread of this deadly virus.

According to Google, 1.5 billion people use their Gmail platform around the world and right now the company is fighting hard to keep scammers and spam emails away, as they block over 100 million impostor emails sent to users globally under 24 hours. As Apple and Google are developing new contact tracing system using Bluetooth technology to control the spread of Coronavirus pandemic, we now hear from company representatives that Android will use Google Play Services to get contact tracing capabilities to the users without a full OS update. This should help older models that no longer receive OS updates gain the upcoming functionality from Google. The new feature will be available to all devices running Android's version 6.0 Marshmallow and newer.

As the world is battling against the deadly Coronavirus, two major technology companies have joined hands to built a new contact tracing system using Bluetooth technology to help governments and health agencies reduce the spread of the virus. Apple and Google have announced that they will introduce APIs that enable interoperability between Android and iOS devices using apps from public health authorities in May, and will work to enable a broader Bluetooth-based contact tracing platform in the following months.
